Xiaomi has officially launched Redmi Smart Band in India online. It has an MRP price of Rs 1,599 and will go on sale today ( Sep 9 ) at 1PM on Amazon.in. You can also buy Redmi Band + Additional Strap at a price of Rs 1,898 ( now in stock ) from Amazon.
Redmi Smart Band is an affordable, budget fitness band made by Xiaomi. It features a 1.08″ Full touch Color display and offers a standby time of up to 14 days on a single charge. It is available on Blue, Green, Orange and Black colors in India.
Like every other fitness band / fitness watch, Redmi Band also supports 24×7 Heart Rate Monitoring. It is also 5ATM water resistant, so don’t worry taking it to the pool or in the rain.
Helpful features like Idle alerts and notification alerts from app on your smartphones are on board as well. If you wear it during sleep, you can make it monitor your sleep cycles as well. You can also control audio using Play, Pause, Next, Previous etc controls available on the band.
Redmi band has a USB port build right in to the watch itself, so you don’t have to fiddle with external charging hubs to charge it. You can fully charge this band in 2 hours time.
boAt, the company that has been selling headphones in India for a while has decided to enter the smart band/fitness band category as well. boAt Pro Gear smart band is now official and will go on sale in India from July 12th onwards.
Pro Gear Smartband comes with regular features a budget fitness band like Mi Band 4 / Band 4 offers. However, it looks more stylish than those Mi bands in my opinion.
It features a full touch color display with a smart gesture awake setting and can track your Daily steps, Sleep quality, Burnt calories etc. If you don’t like the default watch face, Boat lets you change to the one suitable for you.
Like every other smart band / smart watch, you can connect it to your smartphone and receive notification and call alerts. You can customize it and get only the notification you want.
24 hours heart rate and sleep quality monitor
IP68 water and dust resistant
up to 7 days of working time ( up to 10 days battery backup without bluetooth connection and sync )
Build in charing port ( just plug it in to your laptop USB )
I have been using Mi Band 3 for a while now. Xiaomi has already launched it’s successor Mi Band 4 as well as a Heart Rate Sensor less Mi Band 3i in India a few months back.
Mi Band 3, when on offer, sells for Rs 1,599 online in India these days. Is it worth buying that for that price in 2020 ?
Great Battery Life – up to 3 weeks with Heart Rate Sensor Off
Notification support – you can choose alerts from which all apps to show via the app
Very Feature Rich companion app – Mi Fit
Automatic Do Not Disturb and Night Mode
Lightweight, Small and Easy to Wear
Waterproof – Go for a Swim without worries
Display is not that visible under Direct Sunlight.
Just a Generic Pill size design
As you can see, i can’t think of many things to put it under Cons section above. The notification alert system has allowed me to never miss a call or an important message. It’s really a good value for money fitness band and i would highly recommend you get one.
