Despite being banned from using US-origin chips and software, Huawei continues to innovate and deliver high-quality products for the mass market. However, Huawei no longer sells Android phones in India, primarily because they cannot provide smartphones with Google Play Store pre-installed and are restricted to using their own Kirin processors instead of the newer, faster Qualcomm Snapdragon or MediaTek chipsets.

That said, Huawei has not entirely exited the Indian market. Their latest offering, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro 46mm Smartwatch (Vili-B29F), is now available for purchase online in India at a price of ₹29,999 (as of December 24, 2024), with an MRP of ₹39,999.

Currently, Amazon India ( Amazon.in – Check here ) lists this model, sold by the seller Clicktech Retail Private Ltd.

The Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro 46mm Smartwatch features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and offers up to 14 days of battery life. With the Always-On display enabled, the battery backup decreases to approximately 5 days on a full charge.

Amazfit has been launching some cool-looking Smartwatches in India online. Amazfit Zepp E Smartwatch is the latest in the line-up and comes in two different styles. If you like the Apple Watch design, you would be tempted to go for the Square Version of the Amazfit Zepp E ( ‎A1958 ). If you are a fan of Samsung Galaxy Watches and the good old Moto 360 Android Wear watches, the Zepp E Circle version ( ‎W1936OV2N ) is the one for you.

According to the official specs, Zepp E can give you up to 7-day Battery Life on a full charge which is much better than what an Apple watch offers can get on a full charge.

Honor Watch Magic First Gen Smartwatch Review

Honor Magic ( First Gen ) Smartwatch is now selling for an offer price of Rs 8,999 in India online on Flipkart. Is it worth buying for that price ?

I have been using a Honor Watch Magic for a while now. Before that, i have used basic Mi Band 3 Fitness band for quite some time. There are Pros and Cons for both these fitness devices. Read them below.

Apple Watch, even though has the “Best Smartwatch on the Planet” crown, it’s battery life is not great. You often have to charge it every day. Honor Magic on the other hand offers up to 7 days of battery life which is great for a smartwatch.

The display is an AMOLED one with good PPI ( 326 ). From my experience, it is visible outdoors even in direct sunlight. I find it hard to read the screen of my Mi Band 3 under direct sunlight even though it OLED. So the screen quality is quite good on the Magic

Apple Watch and many Android Wear OS watches support Apps. Honor Magic Watch on the other hand do not have that functionality. It is more like a fitness band on steroids. It comes with features like Realtime Heart Rate Sensor, Barometer, Altimeter, GPS etc. If you want better battery life, i would suggest you disable the realtime Heart rate sensor.

Honor Magic can be paired with your smartphone using Huawei Health app. It’s quite easy to do that. Firmware updates are done via this app as well, however, i find the process of Firmware update painfully slow between my Honor 10 and Honor Magic Watch.

Talking about the Huawei Health App, it has all the basic Fitness features. You can enable or disable features like Heart Rate Monitoring. Tru Sleep etc. You can also select and configure which apps are allowed to send notifications to the watch via the app. Feature-wise, it is not as rich as Mi Fit app, but has all the basic features build in.

Huawei now allows to change and download Watch Faces via this App as well. You don’t currently have a lot of watch faces to choose from though. On the Watch, you can easily change the watch face by long pressing and swiping left or right to choose the one you want.

Does Honor Watch Magic First Gen support Always-On Display ? Yes. When it was launched, it didn’t have that feature. They added this feature via a Firmware update. However, you can’t use the watch face you like as the Always-on display, instead, have to choose between Digital or Analog – those are the only two options available under the always on display. You can alternately pull down from top and hit ‘Show Time‘ – which supports up to 20 mins of screen on time.
