Alder Lake-H 12th Gen Intel Core i7 chipsets such as Core i7-12700H offer much better performance than the last generation 11th Gen Core i7 processors. These new models feature a combination of Performance-cores ( P-cores ) and Efficient-cores ( E-cores ). These two run at different frequencies.
Core i7-12700H is one of the most popular 12th Gen Intel processors currently being used on many high-end gaming laptops launching in 2022. This chipset was launched in Q1’22 and has 14 cores. Of the 14 cores, 6 are P-cores ( Performance-cores ) while the rest 8 are E-cores ( Efficient cores ).
It supports a total of 20 threads. The max Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Frequency it supports is 4.70 GHz. The E-core can go up to a 3.50 GHz turbo boost only.
