Check the Older Model Numbers First

Laptops launching in 2026 carry higher prices than the models before them, largely because memory and storage costs climbed through the year. It is worth checking whether earlier Legion 5 model numbers are still listed and in stock before placing an order, as one of them may cost less.

Processor & Graphics

The processor is the AMD Ryzen 7 250, with 8 cores and 16 threads, a 3.3 GHz base clock, boost up to 5.1 GHz, and 8MB L2 plus 16MB L3 cache on an AMD SoC platform. Its integrated AMD Ryzen AI NPU is rated at up to 16 TOPS.

On the 83Q7009KIN, graphics move up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB GDDR7, running a 2497MHz boost clock at a 115W TGP and rated at 572 AI TOPS, with G-SYNC support.

Cooling is Legion Coldfront: Hyper, using turbo fans and 3D heat pipes, and Fn+Q cycles through performance modes. Lenovo says AI Engine+, driven by the LA1 AI chip, detects the running game or app in Balance mode and adjusts settings on the fly, with everything managed through Legion Space.

Memory & Storage

Memory is a single 16GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM in one of two DDR5 slots, which are dual-channel capable, and Lenovo lists support up to 32GB DDR5-5600. The second slot is free.

A 512GB M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD handles storage. The chassis has two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, taking up to two drives. Lenovo’s specification sheet lists up to 2TB per drive, while the Amazon India listing puts the limit at 1TB for M.2 2242 drives and 2TB for M.2 2280 drives.

15.3-inch WQXGA OLED 165Hz Display

Resolution on the 15.3-inch OLED is WQXGA (2560×1600), with a 165Hz refresh rate and a glossy finish. Brightness is rated at 500 nits typical and 1000 nits peak, and the panel is certified for DisplayHDR True Black 1000, with Dolby Vision and G-SYNC support. Colour is X-Rite factory calibrated, and the screen-to-body ratio is 92% AAR.

Lenovo’s sheet lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage, while the Amazon India listing states 100% sRGB. The display carries TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free and Low Blue Light (hardware solution) certification along with Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated marks. There is no touch or pen support.

Connectivity

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless, and a 100/1000M Ethernet (RJ-45) port covers wired networking.

I/O Ports

  • 2 x USB-C (USB4, 40Gbps) with USB PD 65-100W input, 15W output and DisplayPort 1.4
