Processor & Graphics

Intel’s Core i5-14450HX drives this configuration. It is a 10-core, 16-thread part from the 14th Generation HX line, running a 2.4 GHz base with turbo up to 4.8 GHz and 20MB of cache. The core split is the standard HX arrangement of performance and efficient cores rather than a uniform ten.

Graphics duty falls to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, configured at an 85W TGP in this chassis. GDDR7 on an entry RTX 50 part is worth noting on its own, since the same tier shipped with GDDR6 in the previous generation.

Memory & Storage

16GB of DDR5 comes fitted, and ASUS lists two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots on this board with a ceiling of 64GB. Both slots are counted in that total, so reaching the maximum means replacing what is already installed rather than adding to it.

The drive is a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. There are two M.2 PCIe slots in the chassis, which leaves one route to more storage without touching the boot drive. A year of Microsoft 365 Basic adds 100GB of cloud storage on top.

16-inch FHD+ 144Hz Anti-glare Display

The panel measures 16 inches (40 cm) in a 16:10 ratio at 1920×1200 (WUXGA). Refresh rate is 144 Hz, brightness is rated at 300 nits, and colour coverage is 100% sRGB. The finish is anti-glare, which is the usual pick on a TUF-class machine over a reflective coating.

Connectivity

Wireless is handled by a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual-band 2×2 card paired with Bluetooth 5.4. Wired networking is on board as well through an RJ45 LAN port, which is not a given on 16-inch machines at this weight.
