At the centre of the 83JE01FTIN is a 14th Gen Intel Core i7-14700HX with 20 cores (8 performance + 12 efficient) and 28 threads. The P-cores run from 2.1 GHz up to 5.5 GHz, the E-cores from 1.5 GHz to 3.9 GHz, and the chip carries 33MB of Intel Smart Cache on the Intel HM770 chipset.

Dedicated graphics come from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7, set to a 2370MHz boost clock and a 100W TGP, rated at 440 AI TOPS. G-SYNC is supported on the internal display.

Heat is handled by Lenovo’s Hyperchamber cooling, with turbo fans and copper heat pipes, and Fn+Q switches between performance modes. Lenovo says its AI Engine+, running on the LA1 AI chip, tunes CPU, GPU and system settings automatically and uses Scenario Detection to adjust between gaming, streaming and everyday use.

One 16GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM is installed, leaving the second of two dual-channel capable DDR5 slots empty. Lenovo lists the ceiling at 32GB DDR5-5600.

Storage is a 1TB M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD (QLC). The board has two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots and supports up to two drives, with Lenovo listing M.2 2242 SSDs of up to 1TB each.

15.6-inch FHD 144Hz IPS Display

The 15.6-inch (39.62 cm) FHD (1920×1080) IPS panel runs at 144Hz with 300 nits brightness, 100% sRGB coverage and an anti-glare finish. The screen-to-body ratio is 88% AAR, G-SYNC is supported, and the panel carries TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification (software solution). It is a non-touch display with no colour calibration and no pen support.

Wireless is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax 2×2) with Bluetooth 5.2, and there is a wired 100/1000M Ethernet (RJ-45) port. WWAN is not supported.

New models entering the market are being priced against those higher component costs, which is why a configuration launching now can cost considerably more than the same configuration launched a few months earlier.
