Best 16GB ram HP laptops you can buy in 2023

There was a time 4GB ram laptops were enough for general-purpose home and office use. That’s now long gone and 8GB ram models took over that. In 2023, we would recommend going for 16GB ram laptops instead of 8GB ram models to get the best performance and a fluid experience throughout the year.

In 2022, we saw plenty of laptops with 16GB ram from various laptop manufacturers such as HP, Lenovo, Dell, LG, Asus, Fujitsu, Acer etc. The price of these models starts at around Rs 65,000 in India online on Amazon.in / Flipkart / Croma etc.

If these laptops have dedicated AMD or Nvidia GeForce laptop graphics GPU, then the price usually goes a few thousand higher – to around Rs 75,000. The laptop I personally use was brought in 2021- an Asus TUF 17-inch model with AMD Ryzen 7 4800H and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 which was selling for Rs 74,999 at the time of purchase.

For general-purpose use, a laptop with a dedicated graphics GPU is not necessary. It also adds weight to the system making it difficult to carry around in the backpack.

Even though this is a 2023 blog post, most of these laptops were launched in 2022. We are yet to see 2023 laptops made by HP to arrive in the market, which are expected to be powered by newer 13th Gen Intel Core i5 / i7 processors or AMD Ryzen 7000 Series chipsets.

HP Pavilion Plus Models were launched in 2022, powered by 12th Gen Intel processors. There are a few different models available. The current lowest price for the 16GB model in this series is ₹75,990. HP Pavilion Plus can be called an all-rounder. It has a 2.2K resolution display offering a crispier screen and is powered by Alder Lake H Series Intel Core i5-12500H / Core i7-12700H offering great performance. HP also launched other Pavilion models with 16GB ram in India. These regular models do not have a 2.2K screen instead sport a Full HD display. Instead of the H Series, these are powered by U Series processors like Intel® Core™ i7-1255U or P Series processors like Core™ i5-1240P.

Xiaomi has earlier launched its 12th Gen Intel-powered laptop – Xiaomi Notebook Pro 120G – Series in India. These ‘new’ Ultra Max and Pro Max models have specs similar to the last year’s model. Lenovo has launched IdeaCentre AIO 3 F0G0018AIN Desktop model powered by 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 quad-core processor. This is part of the IdeaCentre AIO 3 24ITL6 series. Amazon.in has listed this model online in India.

Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 F0G0018AIN features a 23.8″ Full HD (1920×1080) IPS screen with a max brightness of 250 units supported. It has an anti-glare coating and supports 10-point Multi-touch. It comes with 16GB of ram and 512GB SSD storage.

Lenovo has announced Yoga Slim 9 14IAP7 82T00055IN / 82T0001JIN laptop model for the Indian market. It is powered by Alder Lake P 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1280 14-core processor. For graphics, there is no dedicated Nvidia or AMD graphics available on this, instead, it uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics GPU.
